2017 Point 2 Point – New Finish Area!

May 31, 2017 by admin

The Park City Point 2 Point is super excited to announce a new finishing area for 2017. Through generous cooperation with Utah Olympic Park, Snyderville Basin Recreation District, and last but not least, Skullcandy; we will be finishing on the Millennium Trail right in front of the new Skullcandy World Headquarters.

More details will unfold regarding the finish area in the coming weeks, but generally speaking racers and spectators will be using the Skullcandy parking lots, and the finish zone will be just down the hill right in front of the building (on paved

Millennium Trail). The East end of the building has a primo patio area where we will be serving racers food (spectators will be able to purchase food here as well).  And, Skullcandy is providing every one of our racers with the sport edition Method headphones ($30 retail value!).  The retail space at Skullcandy will be open providing discounts to racers and spectators on P2P race day.

We’ve always talked about how rad it would be to have the course continue over to Kimball Junction, with the addition of the new Olympic Park trails, this is now a reality. (COURSE PAGE) The new route to the finish will veer off from the original route at the top of Rob’s Trail, where racers will now pickup the Olympic Ridge Trail and then continue down Moose Puddle and then to Iron Bill and RTS. Many racers will rejoice in the fact that the climb at the bottom of Rosebud is no longer in play, but trust me when I say this, even with this new section being mostly downhill it’s going to be physically taxing. The trail has many switchbacks, and Iron Bill specifically is a rocky descent.

Again, many thanks to Skullcandy, Basin Recreation, and the Utah Olympic Park, for helping make all of this possible.
