What do you have to do? Post a wall story about the craziest road trip you’ve ever experienced traveling to a race – like waking up to the sound of gunfire to find you plopped a sleeping bag down in the center of the local shooting range (which is actually the old town dump). You have very limited space, so get to the point, get creative and you could be racing and Lodging for FREE! Images always make for a better story, so post ’em up, and….the more comments your story receives the better you chances of winning are.
We pick our winner the day registration opens on 2/15/10. Good Luck!
Great story Liz…I think I would have high-tailed it back home after the first snake encounter.
I’m hoping, if you have a Facebook account, to post this up on the Park City Point 2 Points page. If not, no big deal, I’ll still consider you entered in the contest.

In 2007 my training partner and I decided we would do the whole 24 hour Granny Gear Series Solo, all the races! We live in Illinois near Chicago and the first race was in California. We had to save on days off since we only got 2 weeks off a year and driving to and from the races had to fall into the 2 weeks off. So, we left for California and I drove straight thru. Twenty-nine hours later, we were in CA, and I had driven over 2000 miles. We got to the course in Temecula and met the GG people, we thought they were teasing us about the rattle snakes, ground bees and tarantulas. Wrong. That was the most exciting pre-ride ever! We saw not one but three rattle snakes, a swarm of ground bees that was so big it looked like the dusty trail had been turned to mud, and a couple very large spiders crossing in our paths. Needless to say our trip to CA will always stick out in my mind.
